I attended my first Curve this season, and I can’t wait to share all of the amazing lingerie! I’m going to kick off my coverage with one of my favorites: Cleo by Panache. The main colors of the collection are dark blue and pink/coral with some prints and neons thrown in for added fun. Cleo has grown up a bit recently and patterns are more abstract than kitschy. I absolutely love it!
Moulded and T-shirt bras
This season, Cleo is bringing it with the fun colored T-shirt bras. At the top, we have the Morgan in Raspberry, which is based on the much beloved Panache Black Ardour. Morgan should be an excellent seamless bra for projected breasts! The microfiber on Morgan is incredibly soft, and the matching panties are cheeky cut with a stretch lace back. Next up: the Koko Muse in marled Denim, a returning silhouette. The Koko line fits shallow breasts best. The bottom picture is of the new Koko Spirit in Fuchsia. It has a classic Cleo feel with its polka-dotted mesh. The Classic Koko (28 E-GG, 30 D-H) and the Koko Strapless (28 E-G 30 D-G) will be available in caramel and black this season. The Lexi (28-38 D-H) moulded balconette is another continuity style for Cleo, and it’s available in Latte and black.
Unlined Balconette Bras
Navy is a huge color for this spring! Dark colors for spring make me happy, because they’re an unexpected surprise. Marcie comes in navy with a coral trim and adorable red and black polka-dotted bows this season. The coordinating bottoms come in a cheeky Brazilian brief and an adorable flirty, ruffled brief. Marcie will also be available in the continuity colors of beige and black. I absolutely adore this season’s Minnie! The new print has a nighttime city-lights feel to it that I can’t get enough of. Eons more sophisticated than the old polka-dots! I would love to see Cleo continue to use such beautiful abstract prints. The Minnie cut is based on the Marcie, but it’s more projected and closed at the top. In the bottom picture, we have the lovely Hettie in a gorgeous navy over teal. This colorway is much more striking in person, it looks a bit like sunlight peeking through the depths of the ocean. The Hettie cut is based on the Lily, but it has stretch lace at the top section of the cup.
There’s a lot of neon pink going around this season across brands, which generally is not my favorite. But, all appearances are that it’s going to be a huge trend. Up top we’ve got the Skye in Violet with a neon pink upper trim and yellow stitching on the band. Looks a bit like an easter egg! 🙂 I reviewed the SS16 Skye and found it to fit like a combination of Lily and Marcie. I’m not sure why Skye starts at a 28F and not a 28E like everything else, but I’m very glad that the majority of the collection includes 28E this year. The middle style is the Kayla in a white multi print. Kayla fits very similarly to Hettie, but it’s a bit more full-on-top friendly and less soft and stretchy. The last picture is this Kali in a neon pink. Seriously, this pink is blindingly neon and definitely not for the faint of heart. For the bold, this could be a perfect valentines bra. Kali is based on the Lucy (available in black and white 30-38 D-J). Its best for full on bottom breast shapes, and I’m happy to say that the gore on this season’s Kali looks to be a bit narrower than it has been in the past. Win! 🙂
The Mimi comes in an adorable, polka-dotted denim blue with coral trim this season. To me, it almost looks like swimwear, but it’s very cute in a retro way. The Mimi is a three part half cup that has a fair amount of projection and is quite open on top. Up next, the much-beloved Breeze longline! I’ve been lusting after this style for years now, and I think this might be the season I get my hands on it! I love the turquoise and yellow accents on this year’s floral print. I can see Breeze fitting easily into my wardrobe as a fabulous crop top. It comes with a matching sheer-side thong and allover print brief. As a continuity style, Cleo has the Juna (28-38 D-H) in beige, ivory, and black. Juna is a single seamed half cup, and it runs a bit small in the cup.
And finally, the cut I’m most excited for: the Piper longline! This was a new silhouette for AW16, and I’m so happy to see that they’re continuing it. I’m dying to get my hands on one of these babies to see how it fits. Piper comes in Neon Acid Coral for SS17, which sounds terrifying but is actually pretty cute. Charcoal bows and a beautiful lace ground the neon coral and keep it from becoming too much. Words can’t express how happy I am that unlined longlines are really a thing now! 🙂
What are your favorite styles from this season? I love the new Breeze, Minnie, and Hettie. I’ll never leave my ocean colors behind <3
